New iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch Launch Moved to Week of March 21 - NBCNews.com
Apple has moved back the date for its big reveal of the next iPhone and iPad, according to industry insiders. The launch is now expected to be March 22, one day before Apple is due in court to answer a motion to comply with the FBI in unlocking an iPhone used by one of the San Bernadino terrorists.
AppleInsider notes that Apple asked its employees to keep their calendars open for March 21-23. The launch was widely expected to take place on March 15, and it's not clear if sources were incorrect or if Apple moved the date.
Either way, the event is expected to launch a new, four-inch iPhone, a 9.7-inch iPad, and new versions of the Apple Watch. Designs for the updated iPhone, purporting to be leaked from a case manufacturer, began to circulate online last week and show curved edges, the Live Photos option, and a relocated sleep/wake/power button.
