Ernesto Eatman was arrested after police tracked him down using a stolen iPad's "Find My iPhone" app.

PINECREST, Fla. - A man accused of stealing an iPad from a car in Pinecrest was quickly arrested after the "Find My iPhone" application led police to him.

Pinecrest police said a resident in the 5800 block of Southwest 94th Street called 911 Friday afternoon after seeing a man rummaging through the resident's Mercedes-Benz. The man ran off after the resident stepped outside and asked him what he was doing.

The resident soon realized that his briefcase and Apple iPad were missing.

Using the iPad's "Find My iPhone" application, police were able to locate the suspect, identified as Ernesto Eatman, 32, and take him into custody.

Police said they found the iPad in Eatman's backpack, as well as several cellphones, a credit card belonging to another victim and other electronics.

Detectives are investigating to determine if Eatman is responsible for other crimes in the Pinecrest area.
