Apple Watch 2 release date delayed

The Cupertino company is normally very predictable when it schedules its big announcements, so an April release for the Apple Watch 2 seemed likely when you consider the first-gen Apple Watch arrived around the same time.

This week, speculation from TechCrunch suggested that we won't see a new smartwatch from Apple until later this year.

Days later TechCrunch changed its stance and claims it's heard from sources that a new Apple Watch would land in spring with an added FaceTime camera as its most notable new feature.

PlayStation VR price leaks

A couple of weeks ago, alleged pricing for Sony's Oculus Rift and HTC Vive rival suggested the VR headset could be up around the $800 mark. The eagle-eyed folks at Gamereactor however, spotted a listing on the Swiss retailer website Microspot suggesting the headset will be priced in at 498 Swiss francs. When converted, that works out to around £349 or $496. The listing also mentioned a 30th June 2016 release date for the PlayStation VR.

Sony has remained tight lipped so far on revealing pricing and release date details for the PlayStation VR, despite the Oculus Rift already going on pre-order sale for $599, with the HTC Vive set to go on pre-order on February 29th.

MYO now makes sweet music

The innovative gesture armband is being used by a LA-based tech startup Precision Music Technology to give you hands-free control of your music software and analog synthesisers. Using the MYO's sensors, Leviathan is able to interpret what your hands and fingers sending that the data over Bluetooth.

It's available now for Mac and Windows users but you'll have to buy the MYO band separately. Check the video above to see how it works.

Oculus founder facing lawsuit

Palmer Luckey, the creator of the Oculus Rift headset will have to put some shoes on for a date in court after a U.S. judge agreed for a lawsuit to proceed against the babyfaced inventor.

The case apparently goes back to 2011 and 2012 when Luckey was hired by Total Recall Technologies to build a prototype head-mounted display.

The Hawaii-based company believes that Luckey used information to improve the display Luckey was working on for them to build his own head-mounted display, which ended up being the Oculus Rift headset that turned up on Kickstarter.

Luckey unsurprisingly, disputes the claims and we're sure this won't be the last we hear about it as the now Facebook-owned hardware is set to go mainstream.
